Проф. д-р İlker Ertuğrul: год и место рождения — 1979, Измит. Среднее образование получено в Коджаэли. Окончание медицинского факультета Университета Хаджеттепе — 2004 г. Ординатура по детскому здоровью и болезням на соответствующей кафедре медицинского факультета Университета Хаджеттепе завершена в 2010 г., узкая специализация по детской кардиологии — в 2013 г. В 2008–2009 гг. — старший ординатор в детской больнице имени Ихсана Доърамаджи Университета Хаджеттепе. Звание доцента — 2017 г., звание профессора — 2026 г. В рамках профессионального развития — шестимесячная работа в Лейденском университетском медицинском центре (Нидерланды), клинические и научные исследования по нарушениям ритма у детей и генетическим аритмическим синдромам.

В настоящее время — преподаватель отделения детской кардиологии медицинского факультета Университета Хаджеттепе.

Исследования проф. д-ра Ertuğrul сосредоточены преимущественно на педиатрической электрофизиологии, наследственных аритмических синдромах, врождённых пороках сердца и лечении с помощью кардиологических устройств. Участие в качестве исследователя более чем в 90 международных публикациях, индексируемых в Web of Science. Работы последних лет охватывают стимуляцию области левой ножки пучка Гиса у детей, абляцию желудочковых аритмий, синдром Вольфа — Паркинсона — Уайта, кровообращение Фонтена, психосоциальные последствия наследственных аритмических синдромов, оценку риска аритмий с помощью магнитно-резонансной томографии сердца и применение педиатрических кардиостимуляторов.

Рецензирование в национальных и международных научных журналах; исследования в области педиатрической электрофизиологии и детской кардиологии продолжаются.
