Ömrüm Uzun

Родилась 13 января 1960 года в районе Сусурлук (Балыкесир). В десять лет переехала в Анкару и в 1971 году окончила начальную школу Сарар. В том же году поступила в Анкарский лицей Ататюрка Анадолу, окончила его в 1978 году с отличием (первой), затем поступила на медицинский факультет Университета Анкары. Окончила медицинский факультет в 1984 году второй по успеваемости и проходила обязательную службу в противотуберкулёзном диспансере № 7 в Анкаре. В 1986–1990 годах завершила ординатуру по внутренним болезням на кафедре внутренних болезней медицинского факультета Университета Хаджеттепе и в том же году начала работать в отделении инфекционных болезней. В 1993 году стала ассистент-профессором. В 1993–1995 годах в течение двух лет работала «post-doctoral fellow» в Исследовательском отделении микологии и грибковых инфекций онкологического центра M.D. Anderson в Хьюстоне (США). В 1995 году стала доцентом, в 2002 году получила звание профессора. Д-р Uzun имеет 41 доклад, представленный на международных конгрессах, 46 статей, опубликованных в международных журналах, 25 отечественных и 2 зарубежные главы в книгах.

У д-ра Uzun есть дочь. Интересы вне медицины — слушать классическую музыку, писать стихи и романы (на английском и турецком языках).
