Ömrüm Uzun

وُلدت في 13 يناير 1960 في ناحية سوسورلوك بمحافظة باليكسير. انتقلت إلى أنقرة وهي في العاشرة، وأنهت عام 1971 مدرسة Sarar الابتدائية. وبعد أن أنهت ثانوية أتاتورك الأناضول في أنقرة، التي التحقت بها في العام نفسه، بالمرتبة الأولى عام 1978، التحقت بكلية الطب بجامعة أنقرة. وتخرجت في كلية الطب عام 1984 بالمرتبة الثانية، وأدّت الخدمة الإلزامية في مستوصف مكافحة السل رقم 7 في أنقرة. وأكملت بين عامي 1986 و1990 تخصص الأمراض الباطنية في قسم الأمراض الباطنية بكلية الطب بجامعة حاجت تبه، وبدأت في العام نفسه العمل في وحدة الأمراض المعدية. وأصبحت أستاذة مساعدة عام 1993. وعملت بين عامي 1993 و1995 لمدة سنتين بصفة «post-doctoral fellow» في وحدة أبحاث علم الفطريات والعدوى الفطرية بمركز M.D. Anderson للسرطان في هيوستن بالولايات المتحدة. وبعد حصولها على لقب أستاذة مشاركة عام 1995 وأستاذة عام 2002، فإن للدكتورة Uzun 41 ورقة قُدمت في مؤتمرات دولية، و46 مقالة نُشرت في مجلات دولية، و25 فصلًا في كتب محلية وفصلين في كتب أجنبية.

للدكتورة Uzun ابنة. ومن اهتماماتها خارج الطب الاستماع إلى الموسيقى الكلاسيكية وكتابة الشعر والروايات (بالإنجليزية والتركية).
