Dursun Alehan

Er schloss das Private Darüşşafaka-Gymnasium und die Medizinische Fakultät Istanbul der Universität Istanbul ab. Seine Facharztausbildung am Lehrstuhl für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin der Universität Hacettepe beendete er 1992, seine Schwerpunktausbildung in der Abteilung für Kinderkardiologie der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Hacettepe 1996. 1997 wurde er Dozent, 2003 Professor.

Von 1997 bis 1999 arbeitete er zwei Jahre lang an der Duke University in North Carolina (USA) in den Bereichen Echokardiographie, transösophageale Echokardiographie und interventionelle Kardiologie, und 2011 zwei Monate lang am Birmingham Children's Hospital in den USA in den Bereichen dreidimensionale Echokardiographie und Herzerkrankungen im Kindesalter.

Zu seinen besonderen Interessengebieten gehören Diagnose und Behandlung aller angeborenen und erworbenen Herzerkrankungen, pulmonale Hypertonie (erhöhter Lungendruck), rheumatisches Fieber, Echokardiographie, Herzrhythmusstörungen, die Beseitigung von Verengungen der Herzklappen und Gefäße mit Ballon (Ballonangioplastie) und der Verschluss von Herzdefekten mit geschlossenen Verfahren (Katheterverfahren).

Prof. Dr. Dursun Alehan hat mehr als 100 englischsprachige Veröffentlichungen in internationalen Zeitschriften sowie zahlreiche türkischsprachige Veröffentlichungen.

Er wurde mit dem Erfolgspreis der Forschungsgruppe der Universität Hacettepe im Studienjahr 1998-1999, dem Wissenschaftsförderpreis der Universität Hacettepe im Studienjahr 2000-2001 und dem Erfolgspreis der Forschungsgruppe der Universität Hacettepe im Studienjahr 2009-2010 ausgezeichnet.

Für wissenschaftliche Forschung in den Vereinigten Staaten erhielt er das TÜBİTAK-NATO-B1-Stipendium und ein YÖK-Stipendium.
