Özlem Tekşam

Prof. Dr. Özlem Tekşam schloss an der Universität Hacettepe die Facharztausbildung in Kinder- und Jugendmedizin und anschließend die Zusatzausbildung im Fachgebiet Neonatologie der Universität Hacettepe ab und begann dann als Leiterin der Pädiatrischen Poliklinik (Verantwortliche für die Allgemeine Pädiatrie und die Kindernotfall-Poliklinik) zu arbeiten. Im Jahr 2000 arbeitete sie auf der Neugeborenen-Intensivstation der Universität Minnesota und 2006 im Fachgebiet Kindernotfallmedizin des Krankenhauses „The Hospital for Sick Kids“ in Kanada. 2009 erhielt sie das Zusatzfacharztzertifikat im Bereich Kindernotfallmedizin. 2017 schloss sie das Promotionsprogramm im Bereich Pharmazeutische Toxikologie an der Pharmazeutischen Fakultät der Universität Hacettepe ab. Dr. Tekşam, die 2010 den Titel einer Assoz. Professorin erhielt, ist seit 2015 als Professorin für Pädiatrie in der Abteilung für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Hacettepe tätig. Ihre besonderen Forschungs- und Arbeitsgebiete sind Adipositas, Verstopfung, gesunde Ernährung, Unfallverhütung, Triage, Katastrophen, Trauma und Toxikologie. 2015 übte sie das Amt der stellvertretenden Chefärztin der İhsan-Doğramacı-Kinderklinik aus. Außerdem wirkt sie seit 2005 aktiv an den Akkreditierungsarbeiten der İhsan-Doğramacı-Kinderklinik mit. In der Amtsperiode 2021–2023 war sie Ko-Vorsitzende des Strategischen Beratungskomitees für Kinder in humanitären Notlagen der International Pediatric Association (IPA). Derzeit ist sie Vorstandsmitglied der Türkischen Nationalen Gesellschaft für Pädiatrie und Präsidentin der Türkischen Gesellschaft für Kindernotfallmedizin und Intensivmedizin. Außerdem ist sie im Vorstand der Europäischen Gesellschaft für Kindernotfallmedizin (EUSEP) tätig. Zudem ist sie Redakteurin für den Bereich Kindernotfall der Zeitschrift „Turkish Journal of Pediatrics“.
