About

Naşide Mangır graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 2006 and obtained the urology specialty from the same university in 2011.

After completing compulsory service at Bismil State Hospital, went to the United Kingdom with a 2-year research grant from the European Association of Urology to carry out scientific work in Female Urology and to receive subspecialty training.

Between 2013 and 2020, worked at the University of Sheffield under the guidance of Prof. Christopher Chapple and Prof. Sheila MacNeil on the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse by tissue engineering. As a result of this work, the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) was obtained at the University of Sheffield with the doctoral thesis titled ‘Strategies to improve the vascularization and tissue integration of biomaterials to be used in surgery for female stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.’ Currently registered as a visiting faculty member at the University of Sheffield.

In parallel with scientific research, subspecialty training in Female Urology, Functional and Reconstructive Urology was also completed in the United Kingdom, working as a fellow with Prof. Christopher Chapple for 18 months. During this period, participated as a surgeon in more than 100 urethroplasty operations per year and carried out the pre- and postoperative follow-up of patients. Also ran, for 3 years, a videourodynamics clinic in which functional disorders of the urinary system are assessed. In this respect, training came from a surgical school that is a founder of the field of Reconstructive Urology worldwide.

In February 2020, began working as a faculty member at the Department of Urology, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. Areas of interest are urinary incontinence in women and men, surgical treatment of urethral strictures, structural and functional disorders of the urinary tract requiring surgical treatment, and neurological diseases of the bladder. Scientific research lies in the field of translational medicine, namely the application from laboratory to clinical practice of new treatment methods developed with materials science and tissue engineering for the treatment of urinary incontinence and painful bladder syndrome.

You can make an appointment for diagnosis and treatment of any of the following conditions:

· Urinary incontinence in women and men

· Urethral strictures (strictures, ruptures and trauma of the urinary tract)

· Female urethral diseases (urethral strictures and urethral diverticula)

· Interstitial cystitis / Painful bladder syndrome

· Neurogenic Bladder (bladder problems due to neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis and spinal cord paralysis)

· Pelvic Organ Prolapse (prolapse of the uterus and bladder)
