Olcay Tatar

She graduated from Ankara Science High School in 1992 and from Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine in 1998. She completed her specialty training in Ophthalmology in 2002.

From 2002 to 2013, for 11 uninterrupted years, she worked in Germany as a faculty member in all units of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Tübingen Faculty of Medicine, especially in retina and vitreoretinal surgery. She completed her doctorate (PhD) at the same university in 2006 and became an associate professor in 2010.

In November 2013, she started working in the Department of Ophthalmology at Hacettepe University.



She is interested in retina and vitreoretinal surgery, cataract surgery, and secondary lens implantation. She has won national and international research awards and scholarships, and has scientific publications in many international journals. She has chapters in books in Turkish, German, and English.
