Gökhan Sert

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Sert:

I was born in İzmir in 1990. I completed primary school at İzmir Türk College and high school at İzmir Türk College Science High School. I graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2013. I completed my residency in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and became a specialist in 2019. Between 2019 and 2020, I worked as a clinical fellow in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at China Medical University Hospital in Taichung, Taiwan, where Prof. Dr. Hung Chi Chen, a prominent surgeon in Reconstructive Microsurgery, was the program director. I also spent time as an observer at the Supermicrosurgery International Lymphedema Center clinic of the National Center for Global Health and Medicine in Tokyo, Japan, where Prof. Dr. Takumi Yamamoto was the program director, and at the International Center for Lymphedema clinic of Hiroshima University Hospital in Hiroshima, where Prof. Dr. Isao Koshima was the program director.

I then completed my compulsory service at the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic of Ankara Training and Research Hospital. In 2020, I obtained the European Board of Plastic Surgery and earned the title of FEBOPRAS (Fellow of European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery). In February 2021, I began the Advanced Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery doctoral program at the Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences.

In August 2022, I returned as a Faculty Member (Assistant Professor) to the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, where I had received my specialty. As a faculty member, I am closely involved in the training of our residents and medical students.

I have taken part in numerous national and international scientific congresses, courses, and meetings as a trainer, speaker, and invited speaker. I have scientific articles published in journals indexed in national and international databases and book chapters published by national and international publishers. I serve as a reviewer for journals indexed in national and international databases. I am a member of the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
