Gencay Üstün

Dr. Galip Gencay Üstün graduated from Antalya Yusuf Ziya Öner Science High School in 2006.

Graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2012 as an honor student. After graduation, worked for 4 months as a General Practitioner at Konya Ereğli State Hospital within compulsory state service.

Graduated in 2014 from the associate degree program in Health Institutions Management at the Anadolu University Open Education Faculty.

Completed the Cosmetology Non-Thesis Master's Program at the Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences in 2017.

Completed specialty training at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Hacettepe University, in 2018 and became a Specialist in Plastic Surgery.

Fulfilled compulsory state service between 2018 and 2020 at the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic of Ankara Training and Research Hospital.

As of 2020, serves as a Faculty Member at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Hacettepe University.

In 2021-2022, completed a clinical fellowship in breast reconstruction after breast cancer, aesthetic breast surgery and body contouring surgery at Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel in Belgium.

Obtained the title of Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery in 2023.

Graduated in 2023 with a bachelor's degree from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Anadolu University.

Completed the Advanced Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Doctoral Program at the Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences in 2024 and obtained the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Holds the “Certificate of Competence” of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS).

Member of the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and holder of the “Certificate of Competence” of the same society.

Also a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Society (EPCD) and the Reconstructive Microsurgery Society (RMCD).

Married, with two children.
