About

I began my medical education at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1994. After graduating from medical school in 2001, I started my residency in the same year at the Urology Clinic of Ankara Training and Research Hospital. I became a urologist in 2005. During this time, with a scholarship from the European Association of Urology, I spent 1 month as an observer in uro-oncology and laparoscopic surgery at the Urology Clinic of the University of Vienna in Austria. In 2005-2006, I completed my compulsory service as a urology specialist at Ankara Gölbaşı Hasvak State Hospital. In 2006, I started working as a urology specialist at Ankara Training and Research Hospital. In 2011, I passed the associate professorship examination and received the title of Associate Professor of Urology. In 2013, I was appointed to the academic position of Training Instructor at the same hospital. During this time, I worked intensively on uro-oncology in the clinic. In 2008, I started the Anatomy doctoral program in the Department of Anatomy at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. In 2013, I passed the doctoral qualification examination and received the MD-PhD title. During this time, I carried out academic work to develop prostate, bladder, pelvic floor, and kidney surgical techniques on a cadaver model with an educational focus. I also organized more than 20 training courses on endourological and open surgical cadaver practice. In 2013, I served as President of the 1st International Uroanatomy Congress, the first of its kind in the international academic field. In 2010, with a scholarship from the Society of Uro-Oncology, I worked as a clinical observer on urological cancers at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. In 2013, I received training and a certificate in Denver on "cryotherapy," a minimally invasive treatment method applied in prostate and kidney cancer. In 2014, I worked on functional urology, male and female incontinence, and neurourology at the Department of Urology of the University of Leuven in Belgium. I earned the internationally significant ECMT (European Continuing Medical Education) "Certification of Achievement" in Sacral Neuromodulation, an important treatment method for patients with idiopathic urinary retention and overactive bladder unresponsive to medical treatment. In 2007, I passed the written and oral examinations of the European Board of Urology (EBU) and received the title of FEBU (Fellow of the European Board of Urology). Between 2006 and 2008, I served as General Secretary of the European Society of Residents in Urology. In 2010, I served as a founding member of the Young Urologists Committee of the European Association of Urology. Subsequently, in 2010, I founded the International Young Urological Association (IYUA), headquartered in the United States, and continued as its president for 6 years. I currently serve as Director of the Hacettepe University Advanced Health Technologies Application, Education and Research Center (Hacettepe STEM). I am married and the father of one child.
