Bilgehan Yalçın

I was born in Şenkaya, Erzurum, in 1966. I attended primary school in İzmit and high school at Istanbul Kadıköy Anatolian High School. I entered the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (English program) in 1984 and graduated in 1990. In December 1990, I began my specialty training in the Department of Pediatrics at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. I completed my specialty thesis in the Pediatric Oncology Division, where I had been working since the end of 1994, and became a Specialist in Pediatrics in January 1996. In April 1996, I began my subspecialty training in the Pediatric Oncology Division of the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, completed it in April 1999, and became a Pediatric Oncology Specialist. Between 1999 and 2000, I performed my military service as a reserve officer at the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic of the Gülhane Military Medical Academy. After completing my military service in September 2000, I returned to the Pediatric Oncology Division of the Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine. In March 2003, I passed the relevant examination and received the title of University Associate Professor. In order to gain new knowledge and increase experience in my fields of expertise, I took part as an invited scholar in various studies at the University of Amsterdam Faculty of Medicine in the Netherlands between December 2004 and April 2005.

In January 2010, I was appointed to a Professor position in the Department of Pediatrics at the Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine. I continue my duties at Hacettepe University as a faculty member.
