We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our University.

Dear Hacettepe community,

We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our University, of which we are greatly honored to be members and whose identity we always carry with pride. The 50-year story of Hacettepe University makes us proud.

Fifty years is significant in the history of a university. The 50th anniversary of Hacettepe University in particular is far more significant… Hacettepe is an institution that has become a success story in the history of the Republic of Türkiye. As a great Hacettepe Family made up of academic and administrative staff, retirees, students and graduates, we should all celebrate our 50th year with these feelings.

We would like the 50th anniversary celebrations of our University, which we wish to make unforgettable with the commemorative gifts that have been prepared, to take place in a festive atmosphere on Friday, 7 July. It is up to all of us to ensure that everyone who has a place in their heart for Hacettepe, everyone whose path has crossed Hacettepe in some way, all members of the Hacettepe community from A to Z, take part in the 50th anniversary festivities that will not come again for anyone.

On Friday, 7 July at 10:30 a.m. we will be in the presence of our Atatürk. I hope to be there with our professors, staff, retirees, assistants, students and graduates to show the determination and resolve to carry Hacettepe University, which set out with the motto “Further ahead… To the best…”, into many more 50-year spans with its distinguishing qualities, and to display the spirit of being a Hacettepe member.

Our events will continue throughout the day after we pay our respects to Atatürk; our celebrations will be crowned with a ceremony, shows and concerts to be held at the Beytepe Open-Air Theatre at 6:30 p.m.

Let us display the Hacettepe spirit together. This festival belongs to us, to all of us…
